No rest for the weary

With a brand-new album out and a tour on the horizon, Albert af Ekenstam is gearing up for an exciting spring. After pouring time and energy into Ghost in Us, he’s finally able to take a breath and look ahead.

– It’s nice that the album is finally out so I can focus on new ideas and where I am right now. Making an album is always a lot of work, and you’ve been working on it for a long time before it’s released, so it feels good that the first phase is over, says Albert.

But there’s no time to sit around and admire his own genius—tour life is calling. Traveling, performing, and soaking up the spring vibes with the band sounds like the perfect mix of business and pleasure.

– It’s going to be great to hang out, play, and just have a good time. Of course, there’s a lot of work involved, but overall, it’s all positive, he says.

So, what’s he most proud of with the album? The deep, poetic lyrics? The lush soundscapes? The way it makes people cry in their cars? Nope. Just the fact that it exists at all.

– I’m just happy I made an album at all. It represents my last five years and is a summary of those years, communicated through music and lyrics. Then it becomes whatever it becomes, he reflects.

Now that Ghost in Us is out in the wild, Albert’s focus is shifting to what’s next—playing live, writing new songs, and diving back into the creative chaos.

– The plan is to focus on the live part and to start writing new material—to work my way back into creativity again, Albert concludes.

So, no rest for the weary—just more music, more shows, and hopefully, some well-earned fun along the way.
