IN THE SPOTLIGHT

 SPOT Festival in Aarhus has been a firm fixture in our calendar for years, and this time around we're showing up with more Gothenburg energy than ever. Six acts from our region spread across Friday, from early afternoon to late night.

We're back at HeadQuarters with three of them. Makthaverskan have been one of Sweden's most vital indie pop bands since forming in 2008, melodic, post-punk-infused and relentless. Now with their fifth album, they're sounding sharper than ever. ior is world-class indie rock, raw and personal, with real weight behind it. And Divers brings hypnotic alt rock that moves between explosive and fragile, always emotionally charged.

Elsewhere, Nektar play Lille Sal. Breakthrough of the Year by GAFFA, sold-out tours, two albums in and they've taken Sweden quickly and show no signs of slowing down. Ängel hit Radar, selected through the Excite Network, bringing rave rock, drag, and the kind of performance that gets described as cathartic, sexy and a lot of fun. And Nora Lucia closes out her run with Nordic Incubator, with a melancholic and intimate show.
